The open-sided restaurant which can seat 40 guests comfortably has a rooftop terrace beautifully decked and ideal for basking in the sun or chilling out with drinks later in the day: a vantage point that’s just perfect for a spot of stargazing as the night skies glitter above you. The cuisine offered is quite heavenly too; a tempting choice of local and international dishes to suit a wide range of palates. BBQs are also arranged and specially prepared with all seafood off the catch bought from local fishermen. The freshest of vegetables are sourced from home gardens and farmers of the area. The state of the art kitchen meets the requisite international standards of hygiene and quality with our expert master chef and the well trained crew well able to turn out a scrumptious array of fare. The incredible Ruwala Lagoon Crab – their signature dish, is a must try, of course.
If you must attend to business, the restaurant also makes an ideal place for meetings – with our attentive staff at your service too.
Overlooking the restaurant is our stunning infinity pool which shimmers turquoise by day and glitters to match the stars above by night. Just dive in and enjoy a leisurely swim or indulge in a long soak in the Jacuzzi for a little added luxury. Located close by amidst the Palmyra palms is the kiddies pool – so you can keep an eye on the little ones too.
The focal point of our resort is a cluster of Palmyra palms which are over 125 years old. Set by Mother Nature in a circular formation they are situated at the heart of the property. Aptly named ‘Centre Court’, it is indeed the pivotal point from which all the other buildings radiate and fanned by the rustling palms, it is surprisingly cool even at the height of noon. The circular ‘hang-out’ area set with easy chairs is ideal to sit back and sample Ruwala’s signature welcome drink – a fizzy mix of apple, cinnamon and iced tea. A bonfire is lit up some nights to add a touch of excitement to the atmosphere.
